Student Exhibitions
Encouraging children to share their creativity with significant people in their lives is an important part of STUDIO programming. In addition to ongoing art displays at program sites, and special annual shows hosted by partnering institutions, STUDIO exhibits artwork on a continual basis at two spaces, the Gallery at One East 53rd Street and the Westside Art Studio. The public is invited to join STUDIO friends, families, and teachers in celebrating our students' imagination.

Blossoming Artists: Artwork from Studio in a school’s Long Term Program
February 26, 2009 – March 30, 2009
The artwork this exhibition was created throughStudio in a School’s Long Term Program, Studio’s original program that brings a unique visual arts experience to a select group of 20 New York City public elementary schools. Through this program, Studio’s professional artists set up an art studio in the school, where students have the opportunity to create, discuss, and reflect on their own artwork and that of others. Studio artists also work with teachers, parents, and principals to make the visual arts an intrinsic part of the school environment. A strong mutual commitment between Studio and each program site establishes an atmosphere of excitement, respect, and support for the art that students create. The drawings, paintings, prints, collage, and sculpture in this exhibit exemplify the truly magnificent work that children can produce in such an environment.
