Art & Healthy Living on view in Studio’s Midtown gallery

Proud students, families, teachers, principals, artists, and community members recently joined Studio in a School in its 1 East 53rd Street gallery to celebrate the opening reception of the Art & Healthy Living exhibition. The artwork – over 50 pieces made by students at 24 public schools – showcased a beautiful bounty of vibrant fruits and vegetables, a healthy lifestyle, and of course, the young artists’ talents. However, the theme of healthy living wasn’t restricted to the gallery walls. An array of fresh apples, carrots, and other healthy snacks for all to enjoy mirrored the colors and shapes in the students’ work. Since launching in 2010, Studio’s Art & Healthy Living program has reached over 250 schools and almost 25,000 students across New York City. The exhibition will remain on view through May 12.
