Young Visions 2018 at Christie’s New York
Young Visions 2018 features more than 220 artworks created by students, form all five boroughs, in pre-K through 12th grade. From paintings and sculptures to drawings and digital media, the art on display demonstrates the range of media explored by students. The exhibition will be on view at Christie’s New York through June 26.

Jeff Koons visits a group of 2nd graders at PS 145 in Manhattan
American Pop Artist Jeff Koons recently visited 2nd grade students participating in Studio in a School’s Long Term Program at P.S. 145, The Bloomingdale School, in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The students engaged in a discussion about art with Mr. Koons, and they also got the opportunity to present their own portraits, explained the inspiration behind them and why they made their artistic choices. Studio in a School receives National Arts Award
Studio in a School is the proud recipient of one of the Americans for the Arts’ National Arts Awards. Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation, presented the Arts Education Award to the Studio Institute President Tom Cahill at a celebratory event on October 23rd. The award recognizes Studio’s contributions to the visual arts education field.

On October 23, during National Arts and Humanities Month, the Americans for the Arts will honor Studio in a School for its outstanding leadership by naming the organization this year’s recipient of its Arts Education Award. The Bloomberg Arts Internship Program is now in full swing
The Bloomberg Arts Internship places rising seniors from select New York City public schools at various arts and cultural organizations. BAI provides interns with a paid job experience where they explore their interests and skills and apply them to meaningful work projects. Participants finish the summer with six weeks of job experience, rich arts engagement opportunities, improved oral and written communication skills, and a head start on their college applications.
