We are pleased to present the third installment of our Studio Salon series in collaboration with Miles McEnery Gallery, featuring New York City–based artist Isca Greenfield-Sanders.
Inspired by Renaissance techniques, Isca Greenfield-Sanders sources inspiration for her vibrant compositions through her own contemporary photographs and imagery from vintage 35-millimeter slides found in flea markets. Her landscape paintings draw upon the precision and light effects of photography while using the language and mark-making of painting. She is inspired by images that serve as reminders, approximations, or borrowed memories. A native New Yorker, Greenfield-Sanders received her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and grew up immersed in the artistic culture of Manhattan’s East Village. Her work is included in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others.
This special evening will include delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, an exclusive conversation between Greenfield-Sanders and art historian and critic Elizabeth Buhe, and an intimate viewing of the artist’s exhibition at Miles McEnery Gallery.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Studio in a School to help ensure that the next generation of New York City students have access to the incredible power of visual art.
