Studio in a School’s Young Visions 2015 at Christie’s
More than 400 young artists attending over 50 different New York City public schools, daycare centers, and Head Starts from all five boroughs were joined by friends and family as their artworks were unveiled at Christie’s New York on June 22nd & 23rd.
Young Visions 2015 included works of art made by New York City public school students in Studio in a School programs in grades Pre-K through high school, and celebrated the creativity and unique individual and collective experiences of young artists. The exhibition featured more than 200 paintings, drawings, prints, collages, large-scale collaborative murals, and sculptures and revealed how children see themselves, their families, communities, cultures, favorite places, and neighborhood streets. Through the art-making process, the students gain the tools to express themselves and respond to their surroundings.
