Tim Thyzel born in Hamburg, Germany, received a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art institute in 1991 and a Diploma (MFA) from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg in 1995. He has been living and working in New York City since 1996. Thyzel has been a teaching artist for Studio in a School since 2000 and teaching Foundation Sculpture for the School of Visual Arts since 2004. Most of his career he has worked as a sculptor, often in the public realm. Currently he is focusing on landscapes done in watercolor. His work has been shown in the US, Europe, and Australia.
