Artwork made from groups of objects is called a still life. A traditional still life typically includes things like fruit and flowers. We can use all kinds of objects to make a still life. Assemble objects from around the house. Before you draw, play with them, combining them in fun and surprising ways. Then choose at least three of the objects you’ve gathered. What shapes do you want to combine? What colors and textures do you want to combine? Now draw your combinations!
You can make realistic drawings of your objects. You can also make drawings inspired by what your imagination sees in these new combinations.
