Did you ever notice a wavy reflection on water? Water reflects and bends light, so when you look at or through water, the world around it is transformed. You can make these transformations happen right in your home.
Place a glass of water on a counter. The shape of the glass will also change how things appear when you look through it. Put a familiar object behind the glass of water. What do you see when you look through the glass? Now move your body side to side and up and down around the glass. Move the object to the left or the right of the glass, then closer and farther away. Add more water or pour some out. Try different objects! What do you notice as you play with your glass of water?
Pick at least two favorite views of your favorite object. Now draw what you see. Can you explain what’s happening in your drawing? Does this change how you look at ordinary things?
