Daily Sketch #87

Did you know that trees have special powers? Trees provide food, water and shelter for humans and animals. They help us breathe and feel calm. They protect our planet and support many kinds of wildlife.

There are more than 60,000 kinds of trees in the world. They look many different ways, but they all have a trunk, branches, leaves, and roots that extend into the ground.

Use your imagination to create a new kind of tree. What powers will your imaginary tree have? What special features will you draw to show what its powers are?

For example, a healing tree might grow magical healing fruit. A comforting tree might have branches that encircle you when you sit beneath it.

What shapes and lines will you use to create your tree’s special features? What kinds of details and textures will you add to your tree? Does your tree have scent or sound? Does your tree have a name?

Share your drawing with a friend and tell them about your imaginary tree.
