Studio in a School NYC (Studio) is pleased to present Party Animals: Murals from Studio in a School, an exhibition of two sets of enormous animal-themed diptychs from our permanent collection. Both diptychs stand out for their extraordinary scale, vibrant color, and impressive ambition. The process of creating large-scale group projects offers students unique learning opportunities. Students first use sketching to envision possibilities. Next, they learn new drawing and painting techniques, enabling them to scale up their work. Through collaboration, they hone their communication skills while creating meaningful roles for all.
These remarkable artworks have an equally remarkable history:
In 2015, through a partnership with The Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies, Studio was proud to display these artworks at United States Embassy in Japan during Ambassador Caroline Kennedy’s tenure. We are proud to exhibit them once again in New York City.
