Studio in a School is pleased to present Studio in the Community: Creatively Queens 2024, an exhibition celebrating the artistic achievements of Queens-based students participating in our visual arts education programs. Studio engages children and teens from preschool through 12th-grade at New York City public schools and community based organizations in all five boroughs. Working with Studio artist instructors, students observe, imagine, and interpret the people, places, and things that make up their lives.

The artworks on view were created during the 2023-2024 school year and represent a range of media including painting, drawing, and collage. These works highlight students’ development of skills and capacities as reflected in their artistic choices. Beyond the artworks included here, this exhibition honors the effort, learning, growth, and creativity of every child who participates in Studio’s programs. We thank the following schools and early childhood centers for their partnership and participation in this exhibition:
