Studio in a School is proud to present Young Visions 2026, an exhibition of extraordinary work by artists aged 2-18. Each year, thousands of students in public schools across New York City create art with professional artist instructors during Studio in a School residencies. Students engage in the artistic process, building foundational skills in drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and printmaking. As they explore the expressive possibilities of line, shape, color and form, students learn to communicate their ideas and experiences in the language of art.
Our partnership:
Studio in a School is deeply grateful for its longstanding partnership with Christie’s. Founded in 1977 by Agnes Gund, Studio in a School is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to visual arts education and careers in the arts. Together with Christie’s, and through partnerships with practicing artists, schools, and cultural institutions, we empower young people with meaningful opportunities to create, learn, and envision futures in the arts.
More about Studio in a School:
Studio in a School’s mission is grounded in a commitment to equity and access. Founded in 1977, when drastic budget cuts virtually eliminated the arts from New York City public schools, Studio emerged from a bold idea by founder Agnes Gund: restore visual arts instruction by placing professional artists in public school classrooms. This approach not only returned high-quality arts education to students, but also provided meaningful work for working artists, a model that remains central to Studio’s work today.
In 2008, Studio expanded its impact to include career development for teens and college students through apprenticeships and internships in the arts. Over the decades, Studio in a School has partnered with hundreds of public schools and cultural institutions, serving more than 1.2 million students. Today, our programs reach nearly 30,000 young people each year in New York City and five cities nationwide.

Each year, we celebrate the opening of Young Visions by inviting students, their families, and teachers to come together in recognition of a remarkable achievement: having student artwork exhibited at Christie’s NYC. We sincerely thank everyone who joined us for this special occasion. Enjoy the photos from the event here:
