Artist Instructor of EC Professional Development

(Multiple positions available)

Join an inspiring community of visual artists and early childhood (EC) educators committed to processed based artmaking and working with teachers!

Studio in a School NYC, LLC (Studio NYC) is hiring practicing visual artists and/or early childhood educators for in-person, part-time, professional development teaching positions at public schools, early education centers, and other community-based organizations throughout New York City, to work directly with training teachers in working in a variety of arts media with young children. Artist Instructors of EC Professional Development (Artist Instructors) should have extensive experience with early childhood teaching, processed-based artmaking with students and/or have their own personal art practice. Professional development facilitation or coaching experience is required.

Training sessions occur during school hours in all five boroughs. Artist Instructors will sometimes team teach sessions with another Professional Development Instructor and/or members of the Studio NYC Administrative staff for larger groups of teachers, or they might work more closely directly with one teacher at a time in classrooms. Artist Instructors will most often implement lesson plans already developed by Studio NYC.

Artist Instructors will join a team of dedicated artists who provide visual arts instruction to classrooms around the city. We welcome Artist Instructors to also apply for open instruction residencies at Studio NYC should they be interested. Artist Instructors will also be expected to become a member of United Autoworkers Union Local 2110.
