Maria Katzman, born and raised in Wilmette, IL, received her BFA from The Kansas City Art Institute in 1984, and her MFA from Yale University in 1988. Several years after moving to New York City, Maria established a studio in Woodstock, New York and was an artist in residence during the summers, at the Byrdcliffe Artist’s Colony, from 2006- 2011. Maria lives and works in New York City where she has taught art to children and adults for over twenty years. From 2006 to 2007 she was a visiting artist at Adelphi University where she also taught a color theory course to M.A. students. Visit Maria’s website here.
