Exhibition work featured in AM New York
The City and the Young Imagination: Art from Studio in a School is currently on view at the Museum of the City of New York. The exhibition showcases 28 works exploring the 40 year history of Studio in a School, and it will remain on view through May 21st. Read the article here.

Agnes Gund: Art for Good
Studio in a School’s Founder & Chair, Agnes Gund, was featured in the September issue of Sotheby’s Magazine. Studio in a School Students Learn What it Means to Become Artists
Sarah Sze recently visited a group of third graders in Studio in a School’s program at P.S. 134 in Manhattan. Sze’s visit made even more special for the students as NBC was also in attendance to film the class. NBC’s news anchor Harry Smith observed the class and interviewed Sze, Asoma, and Studio Founder & Chair Agnes Gund.

Studio in a School Expands Arts Education Nationwide
We are pleased to share with you a recent article that appeared in the New York Times. It describes the expansion of Studio with the formation of the Studio Institute under the direction of Thomas Cahill and the appointment of Christopher Wisniewski as executive director of the New York City schools programs. Impacting Student Success in the Arts
ARTS ACHIEVE was supported by a US Department of Education i3 (Investing In Innovation) grant awarded to Studio in a School, in partnership with the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Arts and Special Projects and four of New York City’s premier arts organizations. Studio in a School featured on NYC ARTS
We’re proud to announce that Studio in a School was recently featured on Channel Thirteen’s NYC Arts. Paula Zahn hosted the program from their studios at Lincoln Center and said that, “Through the instructors’ work ethic and enthusiasm the students learn that art is a whole lot more than just skill. It’s a process of exploration and discovery.” The segment about Studio starts the show right out of Ms. Zahn’s first on-camera appearance.

Back to School
As we start our 39th year bringing quality visual art education to children in New York’s City’s most under-resourced neighborhoods, Studio aims to serve more than 30,000 Pre-K-12 students this year across all five boroughs. We are honored to have been asked for the second year to partner with the NYC Department of Education to provide city-wide professional development for prekindergarten educators as part of the Mayor’s Pre-K for All expansion plan. Also, in the South Bronx Congressional District 15, the highest-poverty district in the nation, we have begun implementing Expanding the Frame for Student Success. Read more.

India Wolf’s Stepping Up for Art benefits Studio
This exhibition, conceived, organized, and curated by India Wolf, and hosted by Gagosian Gallery, directly benefited Studio. Artists and students created 25 unique artworks on the canvas of Charlotte Olympia’s “Dolly” shoe. Read more in Vogue & Women’s Wear Daily.

The Ship of Tolerance featured in the New York Times
Internationally renowned artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov unveiled “The Ship of Tolerance” in collaboration with Studio. 450 students from Studio sites contributed artwork to the project expressing their ideas of tolerance. Check out the New York Times article.
